Grasping After Straws

It's kind of like Grasping After Straws.

We try to hold on to each other, but every day we drift apart, never knowing when we might lose someone for good. When a heart stops beating, and a breath is gone, everything changes. We are left feeling lonely, with no comfort to be found.

In this life, we cannot imagine the joy that awaits us when everything is made new. Until that time, we struggle with our own confusion and lack of understanding. If we turn to God and His word, we can find comfort that goes beyond what we can explain. When I am at my lowest, facing troubles I have created myself, a light often breaks through, bringing me peace. Sadness and tears give way to joy, laughter, and even a sense of wonder at how things can change.

We often create our own version of reality and believe it comes from God. But things are as God says, not as we wish or imagine. It is important to know Scripture well and stay focused on it. The Bible warns that our hearts can be very deceptive, twisting things to suit our desires and comfort. That is not the way God wants us to live.
